]]>The Innovative Finance in Africa Review is a showcase of the outstanding models and practices that make up the innovative finance ecosystem across Africa. It includes case studies of social enterprises such as International Housing Solutions, Prodigy Finance and GiftedMom. It also walks you through the Centre’s Innovative Finance Process, which will be run as a workshop at September’s Do-ference in Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town.

A good legal form for a social enterprise is generally one that allows it to combine multiple sources of capital, private and public, philanthropic and commercial, in order to advance and scale the impact of the enterprise. While South Africa does not have a dedicated legal structure for social enterprises, the current structures allow for significant flexibility.
The Becoming a changemaker: Introduction to Social Innovation MOOC is a free six-week course for anyone who wants to make a difference.
MOOCs are free online courses and have no entry requirements. Anyone with an internet connection can take part. Whether you are already familiar with the field of social innovation or social entrepreneurship, working for an organisation that wants to increase its social impact, or just starting out, this course will take you on a journey of exploring the complex problems that surround us and how to start thinking about solutions.
You will be challenged to get out of your comfort zone and start engaging with the diverse spaces around you. By the end of the course, you will have formed your own approach to social innovation, and you will have begun to develop the concepts, mindset, skills, and relationships that will enable you to start, and evolve, as a changemaker
